Calling all Colorado nonprofits! Would you benefit from FREE PR Support?

This summer, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is inviting Colorado nonprofit organizations to submit their most pressing communications challenge for the opportunity to be matched with experienced volunteer PR & Communications professionals for consultation. Now in its fourth year, the ‘PR Paid Forward’ program has supported over 100 local nonprofits to date.

It is FREE to participate, and applications are due Friday, June 23. Apply here.

Nonprofit Testimonials from 2022

“This is a fantastic program, I would highly recommend it to any small nonprofit that needs assistance with communications. The CJRO has a small staff so the addition of our volunteer was significant in helping us launch a large fundraising campaign.”

Melanie Mayner, Managing Director Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra

“Our volunteers really listened to our communications needs, did a lot of research about our organization, and produced a robust communications plan for our organization.”

Katie MacDonald, Social Venture Partners Boulder County

THE PLAYGROUND ENSEMBLE ANNOUNCES THE SECOND COLORADO COLLABORATORS SHOWCASE!

Launched in 2021, the Colorado Collaborators Showcase (CoCoSho) offers the opportunity for artists of all genres, mediums, and backgrounds to work collaboratively on projects incorporating contemporary chamber music.

At the inaugural CoCoSho in April 2022 we partnered with Nu-World Contemporary Danse Theatre, a queer and black-led dance troupe that created new choreography for Frederic Rzewski’s piece Coming Together; composer and performance artist Silen Wellington to present the premiere of Hollow: A Banishing Ritual, an interactive piece that explores the paradox of being both de-sexualized and hyper-sexualized as a transgender person; and composer/violinist Sarah Whitnah and interdisciplinary artist Alex Branch to premiere Timestream, a piece to be performed on Branch’s sculptural instruments.

Call for Collaborators: Proposals Due May 31

The Playground Ensemble is issuing a call for proposals for diverse, Colorado-based creative individuals or organizations with whom we can create new collaborative works involving music for the 2nd CoCoSho in our 2023-24 Season.

We welcome proposals from musicians, composers, improvisers, producers, video artists, poets, painters, playwrights, sculptors, actors, dancers, or any other creators interested in working together with the Playground. We are especially interested in submissions from individuals in traditionally underrepresented groups. Traditionally notated scores are also welcome.

Chosen collaborators will be compensated and will create a project alongside the Ensemble for performance during The Playground’s 2023-2024 concert season.

DETAILED PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS CAN BE FOUND HERE.

TIMELINE

  • May 31, 2023 – Submissions due

  • July/August 2023 – Interviews with top proposals

  • October 2023 – May 2024 – Performances in Denver (performance dates will be determined together with the collaborators)

Please submit your proposal to playground@playgroundensemble.org by May 31, 2023 at 11:59pm MDT.

Email playground@playgroundensemble.org with any questions.

Levitt Pavilion, a nonprofit amphitheater in Southwest Denver, has been dedicated to increasing access to the arts, and building community through music, by producing 50 free concerts annually, since opening in 2017.
However, this year (2020), the Coronavirus pandemic has forced the organization to cancel/postpone all May-July concerts. Like many other presenting agencies and nonprofits, Levitt is waiting for guidance from Federal, State and City Government to inform us when we can continue to safely produce events.
Due to the overwhelming size of the pavilion’s bowl, and the fact that it is an outdoor venue, Levitt is hopeful that no matter what attendance restrictions look like, there will be ways to utilize the space while still practicing “social distancing.”
Levitt generally books “contemporary” touring bands and most of these artists have cancelled tours, making the booking process complicated. While the organization continues to find ways to “pivot,” the beautiful, state-of-the-art, venue sits empty, waiting to be utilized.
Due to the pavilion’s unique advantages, we are reaching out to all SCFD organizations to offer our facilities as a potential space to use for any manner of events or performances that may be difficult to produce in smaller, indoor spaces . In addition being an outdoor venue with vast size, Levitt also holds several unused permits that can be given to existing SCFD organizations free of charge.
While some production costs will still exist, Levitt is willing to offer these free permits, in addition to staff time, to partner with minded organizations to produce and conceptualize events of all kinds.
If you are interested in using Levitt for your organization please contact andy@levittdenver.org to tell us about your event.
We hope everyone is staying safe and that we hear from you soon.
